In
the first step you‘ll have to choose the requested Event
and Race you would like to watch (top left). Note
that you can change to another race any time you want, but
it will always take time to load.
Another important configuration you should pay regard is the
setting about "audio loading enabled". You can avoid
extended loading time by disabling the audio funcionalitly.

|
The
Sportshuttle-Player needs an internet-connection to get the
respective race-data. In addition tot hat you will have to make
sure that your local firewall will allow internet access to
the sportshuttle-player.
Please be patient during the loading process
for necessary content. Depending of your internet connection
this might take up to a minute.
After
finishing the loading process the Sportshuttle-Player will
need a few additional seconds before you can start using it.
During this time you might already have a view on the race,
but no user-inputs will be accepted.

The handling of the sportshuttle-Player is very intuitive,
nevertheless you can get a short introduction during the
following section.
The sportshuttle-player can be used with your mouse
and keyboard, so that you can do the most
manipulations and selections independent of any
additional graphical interface buttons or menus.
You can mark or unmark a boat by pointing with your
mouse and pressing the middle button (3)
You can rotate the camera or change its angle by
keeping the right mouse button (2) pressed while
moving the mouse.
You can use the cursor-keys on your keyboard to
change the planar position of the camera.
Anyhow any of those manipulations can be done by
using the corresponding buttons on the top right of your
screen (more information at a later point).
|
|
|
The first
button on the upper left labelled as "exit" (1) will
close the sportshuttle-software.
The "help" (2) button just next to it will guide you
to the sportshuttle-website.
The following two dropdown-menues (3,4) can be used
to choose between the available events and races. |
|
|
The
dropdown menue labelled as "camera-mode" (5) provides
three different modes for camera positioning and manipulation.
The suffix "on" respectively "off" indicates
which mode is active. Each mode is exclusive.
"Manu" activates a camera modes which allows a free
manipulation of camera position, rotation and angle, independent
of the ships.
"Auto" activates a camera mode which automatically
keeps the focus on the marked ships. So that the user still
can change the angle, zoom or rotation of the camera but only
in a way that keeps the ships in focus.
"TopView" moves the camera to a plan view on top of
the marked ships (with an angle of 90 degrees to the water).

|
|
The
dropdown-menue on the upper right labelled as "information"
(6) provides the possibility to show boatspecific
and general informations and to activate or deactivate those:
"Speed" shows the speed of boats in meters per second
"Wind" turns on transparent arrows on the surface
of the
water which are indicating the direction of wind.
"Name" turns on the label for each boat and shows
its team names
"History" activates a mode which allows to track the
path
of the boats. The route of each boat will be marked by
dots which least each for a few seconds.
"Distance" shows the distance between two boats. It
is
important to know that the distance can be shown if only
two boats are marked.
"Grid" shows a grid on the surface of the water.
"Finish Line" shows the finish line
"Audio" activates or deactivates audio annotation,
if
existent
"Load Audio" activates or deactivates the loading
of
audio content in general. Deactivating the loading can
be very useful in case of slow internet connection.
|
|
|
The
"all" respective "selected" button (7) on
the upper right allows to apply the activated information as
"speed" or "name" for all boats or only
the marked ones.
By using the button the user switches between both modes
and the button changes its functionality. |
|
|
On
the lower left there can be opened a layer (8) which shows each
boat represented by an icon.
To activate the layer and make it visible the user just has
to click once on the small bar on the very left. The same can
be
done to deactivate the layer.
By clicking on a icon, the user can select or unselect a boat
as marked, so that the boat is staying in the focus of auto-cam
or the speed is shown for that boat for example.
On Mouseover on any icon, the corresponding Teamname is shown.
|
|
|
The graphical
interface (9) on the upper right can be used for any manipulation
of camera position, angle, zoom or rotation.
Please notice that only in manual mode the user has the possibility
to change all those parameters and that specific elements of
the graphical interface will not be available in some camera-modes.
The slider on top changes the angle of the camera in relation
to the water surface.
The lower slider can be used to change the zoom.
By moving the element on the circle (hold left mousebutton while
moving the mouse vertically) the user can rotate the camera.
The four arrows can be used to change the planar camera position,
same for the element in the very middle which can be dragged
in the position where the user wants the camera to be moved
(hold the left mouse button while moving he mouse).
|
|
|
On the very down there is the time-slider (10) and its related
buttons.
By moving the slider the user can change to any point of time
during the race.
The Buttons to the right of the slider can be used to change
the replayspeed. |
